There's a Filler for That

12/11/21 | 2 MIN READ

Botox injections might be the world’s favorite cosmetic enhancement choice, but dermal fillers are a close second. With so much interest from men and women worldwide, it’s not surprising that there are so many different fillers on the market today. Each one is unique in its own right, so whatever your aesthetic concerns and goals, there is likely a filler specialized for just that. All of the fillers we offer bring instant gratification because they work immediately.

It’s smart to learn as much as you can about dermal fillers, but you don’t have to make the choice on your own – we’re here to help. Let’s take a look at what we consider when helping you choose a dermal filler.

Dermal Filler Ingredients

Here at Raval Facial Aesthetics, we use fillers that feature hyaluronic acid as their primary ingredient. Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is naturally produced by the body, so it is very compatible. HA bonds with water molecules to help support soft tissue and connective tissues in and around our joints. When this filler is injected, it lifts and cushions areas of the face that may have lost volume or elasticity due to normal aging. It is great for reducing fine wrinkling, under-eye puffiness, and loss of volume all over the face. It also brings water to the surface of the skin to keep it looking fresh and supple.

Juvederm and Restylane

These are prime examples of this type of filler. They are versatile, produce great results, and they are safe. Safety is always our top concern, but because fillers are such a simple treatment it can be easy to forget that this is a medical procedure.

Juvederm is the “old standby” that remains thoroughly modern, with an entire family of products that address all common facial rejuvenation concerns.

  • Volbella XC is the only FDA-approved filler specifically for lips and around the mouth.
  • Voluma XC is thicker, to add volume to the cheeks or re-plump visible wrinkles and folds.
  • Vollure XC is designed to fill nasolabial folds as well as deeper folds elsewhere on the face.

Restylane

This is also a long-proven winner in results and safety. It is made from Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (HASHA), so there is no risk of allergic reaction. We use Restylane products to add or restore volume to the lips, nasolabial folds, cheeks and chin.

  • Restylane Lyft is the only FDA-approved filler for plumping cheeks and smile lines.
  • Restylane Kysse is uniquely formulated to add fullness that is kissably soft.
  • Restylane is easily dissolved, just in case you aren’t happy with your results.

Our Clients are Varied as Well

While fillers are safe and suitable for nearly everyone, we do not recommend them if you are pregnant or nursing. Researchers do not test products on pregnant women, so we don’t have conclusive evidence about safety.

Reactions to filler injection vary from person to person, but you can typically expect some swelling and perhaps bruising at the injection sites. Dr. Raval and his team of highly skilled aesthetic injectors utilize a special formula for injecting fillers that helps reduce swelling, makes the injections more comfortable, and allows for smoother, more uniform results.

Everyone’s facial structure and skin are different, too, so your results may be different from someone else’s. We can talk about that during your personal consultation, when we help you choose exactly the right filler for whatever your aesthetic goals are.
