Balloon Sinuplasty
Do you suffer from sinusitis? It is a common condition in which the sinuses cannot drain properly. The discomfort caused by sinusitis can be minimal to severe including headaches, constant nasal congestion and facial pain caused by pressure. A balloon sinuplasty alleviates the problems by opening the passageways allowing drainage. Considered to be one of the most revolutionary advances in ear, nose and throat medicine in the last 15 years, the half-hour surgery performed under general anesthesia is the least invasive of any type of nose surgery. During the procedure, a balloon is guided on a wire catheter up through the nostrils to the source of the blockage. The balloon is then inflated just enough to clear the passage and prompt drainage to return to normal. Then the balloon is deflated and removed. This procedure has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a viable solution to sinusitis. No incisions means no bruising or swelling, allowing patients to return to their routine activities in almost no time at all.

Many people suffer from sinusitis, pain and pressure in the sinuses, caused by fluid build up. Traditionally, the nasal passages were opened surgically but there is a new, less invasive procedure called sinuplasty. When balloon sinuplasty is performed, instead of removing bone in the passages, a balloon catheter is inserted then inflated once it reaches the fluid build up which releases drainage
Dr. Raval demonstrates the latest procedure used to deliver sinus relief to patients who suffer from ongoing sinusitis. This procedure is likened to an angioplasty because the Doctor inserts a balloon into the nasal passage and then inflates it to widen the passage. Minimally invasive and non-surgical, this treatment leaves the patient breathing optimally.
